Around £2bn was wrongly claimed as expenses, and approved by managers, last year, according to a recent report. This figure was made up from £1.08bn in fraudulent claims, while the remaining £923m was spent on items not covered by companies’ expense policies – including massages, condoms, passport renewals and bribes.
The total bill claimed for expenses in 2008 was £8.3bn, of which the lion’s share was for business travel and accommodation. How... (290 more words)
