Some of Britain’s biggest employers have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining apprentice recruitment, and in some cases even expanding it. Despite the downturn, many are worried that skills shortages could be even worse when the economy picks up again.
The diverse range of employers making this pledge includes Bentley Motors, which, although it has cut production, increased new apprenticeships by 28 per cent this year and plans to add another 11 per cent next year.
