Employment Bill announced: initial analysis

The new Employment Bill was announced by Patricia  Hewitt , Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on 8  November.  Two main areas of change were heralded by the  DTI's press release.First, that the Bill will enact from April 2003 the changes to  maternity and parental rights already announced by the  Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Budget in April 2001.   These include 6 months paid and 6 month unpaid leave for  working mothers and adoptive ...
