The HSE has expressed concern over the number of employees being injured in the waste and recycling sector following the publication of its latest health and safety statistics.
Published yesterday (29 October), the 2007-08 figures show that major and fatal injuries to employees involved in recycling and waste management combined rose by 32% in the period from 2004-05 to 2007-08.
