Worker loses fingertip in machine: company fined £6,855

    A company has been fined a total of £6,855 after inadequate machine guarding resulted in the injury of an employee.

    The employee was working for Wilkin & Sons Ltd of Tiptree, Essex when the accident occurred on 22 February. A machine used for shredding orange peel had become blocked, and the employee was working to unblock it.
