Scheme offers faster payments for mesothelioma victims

A new Mesothelioma Scheme 2008 has now started to accept claims for all people diagnosed with the fatal disease Diffuse Mesothelioma.

Currently, claims for a lump-sum from the state can only be made by individuals who have contracted the disease from exposure to asbestos in the workplace.

However, under the scheme, up-front financial support will now be available within six weeks to many people who were previously not eligible for a pay-out.
