Cutty Sark fire started by vacuum cleaner

    An investigation into the Cutty Sark fire, which caused £10m worth of damage to the tourist attraction, has concluded that the most likely cause was the failure of an industrial vacuum cleaner that had inadvertently been left switched on for 48 hours before the fire started at 4.47am on 21 May 2007.
