Distribution company fined £20,000 after employee loses leg in accident

    A distribution company has been fined £20,000 after an employee was hit by a forklift truck reversing from a loading bay.

    32-year-old administrative worker Lisa Ramos, from Kirkby in Ashfield, was struck by a 2.5 tonne truck whilst working at the company’s premises on Burton Road in Findern, Derby in March 2006.

    The accident occurred whilst the employee was carrying paperwork across a warehouse. As a result of her injuries, Ms Ramos had to have her left leg amputated below the k... (335 more words)
