Research has found that improved co-ordination and posture can significantly reduce long-term lower back problems, currently the second largest cause of sick leave.
The trial - funded by the Medical Research Council and the NHS Research and Development fund – treated 463 patients over the course of a year using the methods of the Alexander technique, massages and regular GP care.
