A vigorous crack down on staff sick days which resulted in falling absence levels at Doncaster Royal Infirmary has raised the question of whether tough measures are beneficial to workplace management.
Levels of staff absence at the Hotel Services department of the Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Trust caused concerns after being reported at a level of 9.27% during the last quarter of 2007.
