Age discrimination: in the regulatory slow lane?

    Existing age discrimination laws have been ineffective and further measures proposed under the Equality Bill are being placed "in the regulatory slow lane".

    These are the concerns of age discrimination groups following the announcement that there will be further consultation on the age clauses of the Equality Bill, and the publication of the latest ACAS Annual report, which shows only 1.2% of cases in 2007/08 related to age discrimination.
