One of the most difficult issues that many employers have had to grapple with since the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 were published is the potentially discriminatory impact of enhanced redundancy schemes.
Most schemes link benefits with age or length of service, or both. If a scheme mirrors the statutory redundancy scheme in certain important respects then regulation 33 of the Age Regulations provides that it is automatically exempt from an age discrimination challenge.&nb... (1291 more words)
