It has for some time been the case that is unlawful to discriminate against an individual on the grounds of someone else's race. For example a white woman who refused to carry out an instruction requiring her not to hire vehicles out to individuals who were black or Asian was discriminated against on the grounds of race even though her race was not being discriminated against.
