£4,000 fine for hairdressers failings in basic fire safety

    A hairdressers in London has been fined £8,000 in fines and costs for what was described as “serious breaches” of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.  

    The hairdressers was visited on 20 March 2007 and a number of faults were found including no emergency lighting in the basement, no fire alarm and no smoke detection system.
