At least half of GP surgeries will open on Saturday mornings or one or more evenings per week, under government plans unveiled today (4 October).
The plans aim to reduce the 3.5m working days lost each year when employees cannot attend work because of a doctor’s appointment, a problem that costs the economy £1bn.
