Worker scalded: NHS fined £15,000

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust has been prosecuted following an incident in which a maintenance worker was badly scalded by steam in January 2005.

The Trust pleaded guilty to breaching Section 2(1) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and was fined £15,000 with £2,520 costs at the City of London Magistrates Court.
