The latest standard contract for the provision of facilities management services is due for publication in the next few days. The PACE (Property Advisors to the Civil Estate) (GC/WORKS/10) contract is designed to be used by public sector organisations to procure facilities management services.

The contract will be suitable for either individual services (for example, cleaning) or for total facilities management services. The PACE contract contains standard clauses on a number of contractual issues, including payment, performance, maintenance, TUP, dispute resolution and contract termination.

According to Marc Hanson of CMS Cameron McKenna solicitors, author of Asset Information's Guide to Facilities Management Contracts, the PACE contract is also suitable for use in the private sector.
