Land registration bill receives second reading

    Date:

The Land Registration Bill received its second reading in the House of Commons on 3 July. The changes would mean that changes in ownership could be completed electronically, making buying and selling of property quicker and cheaper. The Bill also aims to establish a more accurate register, and provide better protection to owners of registered land.

Present legislation around registration of land is complex, confusing and out-of-date.
