CIPD courses from Workplace Law

Foundation courses

We currently run three CIPD courses under the CIPD-accredited foundation level programme:

Certificate in HR Practice (CHRP)

Certificate in Learning and Development Practice (CLDP)

Diploma in HR Practice (DHRP)

Both the CIPD Certificate courses are taught on a fast-track basis of approximately 20 weeks; the Diploma is taught over 25 weeks. Study is via a combination of classroom contact and web-based e-learning.

Intermediate courses

We teach the Intermediate Award in Employment Law, a four-day classroom course accredited by the CIPD which forms part of its intermediate level qualifications framework (equivalent to NVQ/SVQ Level 5). The Award provides students with a comprehensive introduction to employment law and practice for busy managers.

CIPD membership

Students of the Foundation Certificates or Diploma are required to gain student membership of the CIPD. These courses will also provide you with the knowledge required for the Associate professional level of membership. Contact the CIPD for further details on upgrading after your course.

Testimonials

  • When I decided to move into a career in HR I immediately thought of Workplace Law. When discussing the suitably of a course, I found the staff friendly and helpful, as a result I decided to undertake the Certificate in HR practice. Despite feeling nervous, having not been in a classroom environment for some time, I found that the way the course was run really suited my learning style and the informal approach made it far easier for me to absorb information, especially as we are able to discuss the subject matter as a group. Everyone I have dealt with has been really helpful and friendly at Workplace Law and I would absolutely recommend them to others considering HR training. Ian Birch, MP Concepts
  • "I studied with Workplace Law for a Diploma in HR Practice from May to September 2012. I found the training was excellent, very informative and well-structured modules. I passed the course and cannot thank Workplace Law enough for helping me through it. The tutors were brilliant, very interactive and explained information in the modules well. There were a few assessments which were quite nerve racking, but the tutors helped to make us all relaxed and we sailed through. I found all the staff very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. I would definitely recommend Workplace Law to anyone contemplating a HR course." Pat Menikou, DW Windsor Lighting
  • "I would like to express my utmost gratitude to Workplace Law and all the fantastic staff in London for making my learning experience such a positive one. I will recommend this course and your organisation to any other Service leavers and will make this clearly known on any MOD resettlement surveys I complete in the coming weeks." Darren Podmore, MOD
  • "Studying the CIPD Certificate in HR practice has been a fantastic, intense and at the same time challenging experience. I have gained so much knowledge and an understanding of Human Resources, and I feel I can apply what I have learnt in my day to day work as a HR administrator. Although at times it was demanding working 5 days a week and then studying every night and weekend the results felt amazing when you hand in your last piece of work! Going to the classes at Workplace Law was a good way of meeting new people and getting to know what you had to know to be a HR professional. Workplace Law helped me to do this easily, by having very friendly tutors, guiding you, and making sure that you understood everything that was expected of you. After completing the course, I am now able to be a true HR professional, this has shown as I have currently won one quarterly award, an annual award and also the Company’s HR department has won the Team of the Year award. Doing the course and receiving these awards has boosted my confidence and I fully intend on continuing to move forward in 2012 and explore more opportunities for me to grow and develop." Jo Brett, HR Administrator
  • "I really enjoyed studying for the Foundation Diploma in HR Practice at Workplace Law. I feel this gave me a great insight into the principles of human resources, and the ability to develop essential skills that I can utilise in the workplace. The module tutors were extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, giving me extremely detailed feedback on the assessed exercises I completed. Workplace Law provided exceptional hospitality during the classroom blocks and the Direct Study Team always responded promptly to all of my questions about the course. I have already had the opportunity to recommend the course to one person, and hope to be able to do so many more times in the future." Jonathan Corbett, LGSS
